Floods in Queensland Australia
I know you're probably not expecting to read a comment about the floods in Queensland, Australia, but here goes.....
We're still shaking every now and then and yes it's sometimes scary/tedious/financially awful/heart breaking, but....I really feel for everyone in Queensland right now. It looks far worse than what we've suffered and as if it's on a might grander scale. However I have something to say to the numerous people out there who have all been telling me that they're not calling the EQC to find out what's going on with their claim.
You can't all be ok.
Everyone I have talked to says they try to avoid calling the EQC because they think there are lots of other people out there worse off than them. Even the people whose houses are falling to bits. Even people whose exterior walls have collapsed. Huh?
I am impressed at how well everyone is coping. The kiwi spirit has definately come to the fore. But trust me, if your house is falling to bits you are probably the people the EQC WANT to hear from. Trust me. In many other countries everyone would be calling to complain vigorously on a daily basis. So if your house is badly damaged, do yourself a favour and call the EQC. They're there to help and, despite their confusing/conflicting messages, they really do want to try to get your house fixed as quickly as possible.
